Sales and Event Manager


Department: Sales
Location: Clermont, Florida
Experience: Minimum of (5) Years in sales (required) and (2) in event planning (preferred)
Compensation: $30,000 + Commission. We expect compensation to be around $60,000 once goals are achieved.
Percent of Travel: 0-40% (dependent on sales)

About Us: We are a full-service meeting and event planning company, headquartered in Orlando, Florida. We offer conference and meeting planning services, destination management for conventions, and event design for corporate special events throughout the United States.

Job Description: At Blue Spark, we believe in a hands-on approach to selling where each salesperson maintains their programs from start to finish. As a result of this methodology, we are looking for a very specific candidate – someone with the get-go to generate their own leads; personality to develop relationships with clients; and organization and attention-to-detail to operate their own programs.

Responsibilities:
Minimum of 50+ cold calls per week.
Develop and maintain relationships with hotel partners for future business.
Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on potential sales outlets.
Update internal CRM system with accurate notes on sales and relationships
Prepare and revise content of sales proposals by listening to the client and determining needs.
Research vendors nationwide to provide clients with the highest quality goods/services at the best value.
Liaison between vendors, hotels and clients to ensure all program details are communicated properly.
Travel to and operate programs; ensure success of events.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual analyses.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing yearly pre-established results (sales goals.)

Requirements:
Minimum of five years in sales
High level of character and positive attitude
Ability to learn and be proactive with tasks
Adaptable in an entrepreneurial work environment
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Knowledge of meeting planning functions including, but not limited to hotel sourcing, registration tools, food and beverage management pre-work (menu planning), food and beverage onsite execution, audio visual management, security, rigging, power, etc.
Knowledge of event planning functions including, but not limited to transportation, décor, entertainment, production, lighting, off-site events, etc.
Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Ability to travel
Undergraduate degree in business administration, sales or marketing, hospitality (preferred)
Physical: an adequate range of body motion and mobility to enable the individual to perform the essential functions of the job when on-site during programs.
Ability to work standard 40hr work week plus events
